Dr. Erica Duckworth
Licensed Professional Counselor – Supervisor
I am truly honored to meet people at their darkest moments and to walk alongside them through this season and beyond. My heart's desire is to create a safe, confidential, judgment-free environment and to offer therapeutic techniques that foster meaningful and lasting change.
I strive to approach each session with warmth, compassion, intuition, and honesty—paired with genuine hope. It is and has been the greatest privilege to witness individuals' gifts emerge as they overcome obstacles and achieve their goals and dreams. I am thankful for each person who has entrusted me with their story and invited me into this vulnerable place, and I would be grateful to begin this work with you.

EMDR
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence-based therapy that helps the brain process and heal from distressing or traumatic experiences. When events feel overwhelming, memories can become "stuck," continuing to trigger emotional or physical reactions. EMDR supports the brain in reprocessing these memories so they feel less intense and more manageable.
During sessions, we briefly focus on specific experiences while using bilateral stimulation (such as eye movements, tapping, or sounds). This helps the brain integrate the memory in a healthier way, often leading to reduced distress and more adaptive beliefs about oneself.
EMDR does not require detailed retelling of your story. Treatment is collaborative, paced to your comfort, and begins with building coping skills to ensure you feel supported throughout the process. Many clients find EMDR helpful for trauma, anxiety, grief, and other life challenges.
RTM
Reconsolidation of Traumatic Memories
Reconsolidation of Traumatic Memories is a rapid neurological intervention that utilizes a visualization process to retrieve, unlock, and alter memories making them "safer" when restored. This approach works by briefly activating the memory and introducing new, corrective experiences—allowing the brain to "rewrite" it in a less distressing way in three to five sessions with a 90% effect rate.
Clients are guided through a gentle process of creating emotional distance from their experience rather than just managing symptoms. RTM aims for lasting change by reducing the emotional intensity of the memory itself. The process is collaborative and paced to your comfort, without requiring detailed retelling or reliving of the traumatic event. It can be effective for trauma, anxiety, and patterns rooted in past experiences, helping you move forward with greater ease.
CPT
Cognitive Processing Therapy
Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) is an evidence-based treatment that helps individuals recover from trauma by addressing and challenging how it has shaped their thoughts and beliefs. After a traumatic experience, it's common to develop unhelpful patterns of thinking such as self-blame, guilt, or feeling unsafe that can keep you feeling stuck.
In CPT, we work together to identify faulty thoughts that do not serve you and replace them with more balanced and accurate perspectives. This process can reduce distress, improve emotional regulation, and help you regain a sense of control.
CPT is structured, collaborative, and focused on building practical skills you can use outside of sessions. It is commonly used for trauma and PTSD, and can also support individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, and related concerns.
SICPT
Spiritually Integrated Cognitive Processing Therapy
Spiritually Integrated Cognitive Processing Therapy (SICPT) combines the established benefits of CPT while incorporating faith to improve one's spiritual relationship and simultaneously treating PTSD. This method incorporates spiritual practices such as improving one's relationship with God rather than traditional religiosity, which tends to be more centered around structured, organizational worship practices. This approach also addresses an insecure attachment to God that has been fractured due to the transference of pain caused by humans or feelings of abandonment during times of distress.
Details of traumatic events are not required to be revealed during SICPT sessions. Instead, using the same framework of CPT, therapy focuses on how spiritual beliefs and value systems have been compromised due to sustained physical and mental injuries. This is achieved through a process of education, identifying connections between thoughts and emotions related to the traumatic event, cognitive restructuring, and addressing maladaptive themes.
SICPT also entails identifying stuck points while incorporating spiritually integrated Socratic questioning to reveal wounded relationships with God . For example, "What would a loving God say about this belief?" Practice homework includes identifying spiritual reactions to trauma, such as personal laments over a spiritual crisis. David cried out in Psalm 13:2 How long must I wrestle with my thoughts and every day have sorrow in my heart? How long will my enemy triumph over me?" By targeting PTSD and one's relationship with God, SICPT demonstrates overall improvements for survivors of trauma who are interested in incorporating their faith.
CBT
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a structured, goal-oriented form of "talk therapy" that focuses on the connection between your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. When patterns of thinking become unhelpful or distorted, they can impact how you feel and respond to everyday situations. In CBT, we work together to identify these patterns, challenge unhelpful thoughts, and develop healthier ways of thinking and coping. Sessions are collaborative and practical, often including strategies you can apply in your daily life.CBT is widely used to treat concerns such as anxiety, depression, stress, and life transitions, helping you build skills to feel more balanced and in control.

What Clients Are Saying
“Erica is a phenomenal therapist. I started seeing her at one of the lowest points in my life. Her warmth, knowledge, and genuine empathy helped me learn to believe in myself and find hope for the future through some very dark times. She goes above and beyond for the people she serves and the world would be a better place if everyone could receive the kind of care she offers.”
